Can't easily check Google Translate as it prefers VOUS to TU, for some reason. The book seems to prefer tu to vous-thank goodness! When using Assimil, I've been trying to convert most VOUSs to TUs (seems that about 95% of the time vous is preferred), so that I can actually use the sentences in real life and unless I do a little digging, I'm not even sure that my translations are correct. The sentences, for the most part, seem useful. * Accompanies the audio sold separately at, which includes hands-free spaced repetition. * 1000 bilingual sentences with pronunciation guide in phonetic International Phonetic Alphabet with liaisons. * Vocabulary Index included (includes varying pronunciations of each conjugation/declension with a frequency count). * Recommended for High Beginners (A1~A2) as Supplementary Training to your current studies some working knowledge required good for brushing up or breaking through a plateau. The program has sound as well, but apparently you need to be subscribed to glossika to use it on the website, which costs $30 per month, and I'll not pay that. Also, the IPA system appears to include liaison, which is a huge bonus. I'm really liking that they use the IPA instead of some made up pronunciation system that cannot be used anywhere else.

There is a very decent looking, free PDF guide on the glossika website that is 50 pages and introduces the sounds as well as a free grammar PDF which explains word order, but in a very different manner than I've ever seen. And the books can be quite expensive in paperback, but luckily I came across all three of these books in PDF format. There is absolutely no grammar advice or notes on the text. These books are basically just a bunch of common sentences in parallel with a translation and IPA.
